This flagship model of Torqeedo's Cruise range has an elegant and modern low profile design, with 12kW of peak output and a continuous output of 10 kW that can propel a boat up to a maximum speed of 30 km/h.
Suitable for dinghies and sailboats up to 10 tons, Cruise does everything a 20hp petrol powered outboard engine can, but is quieter, lighter, more environmentally friendly and more convenient. Furthermore, unlike a petrol powered outboard, the throttle response is instananeous. The amount of power you have left is visible on the electric outboard engine's intelligent onboard computer that also displays information such as speed, input power and state of charge, even with third-party batteries.
Torqeedo Cruise has a robust, wear resistant design thanks to features including IP67 waterproof housing, aluminium pylons and a reinforced fin. Purpose developed propellers and additional Torqeedo components complete a highly impressive package.
For a displacement boat making its way through the water, the required propulsive power increases in proportion to the cube of the speed. So if you want to double your speed, you need eight times as much power. However, this works both ways so a small reduction in speed is enough to increase the achievable range substantially. A range guide can be found below.
Torqeedo Travel's on-board computer calculates the remaining range constantly by linking the motor's consumption data with the charging level of the batteries and the speed over the ground of the GPS. This allows you to read the remaining range in real time from the motor display, or Torqeedo's TorqTrac smartphone app.
