Designed for light to heavy-duty applications, this liquid rubbing compound removes stains, oxidation and scratches from fibreglass, metal and painted surfaces. The convenient liquid formula is great for hand or buffer application and does not set up like most rubbing compounds, making removal quick and easy.
Starbrite recommend using Premium Marine Polish with PTEF as the perfect follow up to maintain the restored finish.
Directions For Use:
1. Wash the surface with Starbrite Boat Wash to remove dirt and grime.
2. Apply a small amount of Liquid Rubbing Compound to the surface with a clean, dry cloth.
3. Rub in a circular, overlapping motion with firm pressure while the compound is wet, rotating the cloth used to apply the compound frequently in order to prevent the re-application of removed oxidation.
4. Let the compound dry until a haze appears, then buff with another clean, dry cloth.
Several applications may be necessary to totally restore the finish.
Please Note:
- If you are using an electric buffer, be careful not to apply too much pressure, as it can burn the surface.
- After the original colour and luster have been restored, it's recommended that the surface is sealed and shined with a Starbrite polish.
- All rubbing compounds are abrasive and can scratch gelcoat, metal and painted surfaces. Starbrite recommend that you first try Starbrite Fibreglass Colour Restorer & Sealer before using a rubbing compound, as this product is less abrasive and can usually restore moderately oxidized surfaces to a 'like new' condition.
