Torqeedo Travel 1103 1100W (3hp) Electric Outboard Motor
Torqeedo's Travel 1103 Electric Outboard Motor does everything that a 3hp petrol outboard engine can, but is quieter, lighter, more environmentally friendly and more convenient. This new, top of the line model features a direct-drive motor design that comes with a high capacity 915W high performance lithium battery, extending the range by 73% in comparison with the base model. 1103 delivers 10% more power from 1,000 to 1,000W, and includes a stronger aluminium pylon for increased impact protection, as well as an upgraded transom mount.
Unlike a petrol powered outboard, the throttle response is instananeous, with solar charging available if you're ever running low on power. The amount of power you have left is visible on the electric outboard engine's onboard computer, complete with GPS based range calculation and charger.
For a displacement boat making its way through the water, the required propulsive power increases in proportion to the cube of the speed. So if you want to double your speed, you need eight times as much power. However, this works both ways so a small reduction in speed is enough to increase the achievable range substantially. A range guide can be found below.
Torqeedo Travel's on-board computer calculates the remaining range constantly by linking the motor's consumption data with the charging level of the batteries and the speed over the ground of the GPS. This allows you to read the remaining range in real time from the motor display, or Torqeedo's TorqTrac smartphone app.
Key Features:
