The housing was created by a renowned American designer, combining clean, functional lines with durable construction. The body is made from plastic, while the back is built from corrosion-resistant non-magnetic metal. For vertical mounting, the unit features drip water protection, meeting IP22 standards and ABYC drip test requirements.
Cooling is managed by thermostatically controlled draft fans that automatically adjust speed based on internal temperature, ensuring the quietest operation possible. Power consumption can also be adjusted to 100%, 75%, 50% or 25%, either from the front panel or via the remote control. This feature is particularly useful when using smaller generators or limited power supplies and also reduces fan noise.
The Pro Charge Ultra supports 11 preset charging algorithms to suit battery types including Gel, AGM, sealed, open, calcium, and LiFePO4. For added flexibility, there is also a customisable mode where users can set their own absorption and float voltages. To prolong battery life, the unit automatically runs a desulphation, equalisation, and anti-stratification program about once a week.
Two LED matrix displays clearly show the battery charger’s voltage output and current, while an LED bar indicates the battery’s operating percentage for instant recognition of status. In addition, 32 integrated LEDs provide detailed information such as charging stage, battery chemistry selection, and warnings for voltage or temperature issues.
For added peace of mind, the Pro Charge Ultra features a redundant safety system. If the main processor were ever to fail, a backup system ensures the device shuts down safely, doubling overall security.
