Owatrol's CIP (Corrosive Inhibiting Primer) is a rust inhibiting primer that is suitable for finishing both single and two-pack paints and finishes. The formula contains the anti-corrosive properties found in Owatrol Marine Oil, which enables it to stabilise the surface by penetrating deep into the substrate, driving out excess moisture and air to form a solid, stable layer.
CIP does not require sand or shot blasting first and can be used on both new and rusted surfaces. It will also not dissolve or break down, even when high solvent paints (such as urethane, epoxy, chlorinated rubber, synthetic, etc) are applied to it, with the pigmentation providing enhanced protection and perfect film-forming qualities.
Features Include:
Outstanding adherence on clean bright steel.
Perfect for marine environments - CIP provides outstanding performance in severe conditions.
Perfect protection where a highly resistant paint or two-pack finish is necessary.
Protects ballast tanks of ships.
Resists corrosive fumes.
