Ocean Signal's MOB1 RescueME is the worlds smallest personal locating AIS Man Overboard device with integrated DSC, ensuring its compatible with even the most compact inflatable life jackets. MOB1 is designed to be fitted manually outside the life jacket, or fitted inside for automatic activation when the life jacket is inflated, sending its first alert within just 15 seconds.

The best chance of a quick rescue is from the vessel from which you have fallen overboard - the crew need to know the incident has happened, then keep track of your position. With the DSC feature enabled, the MOB1 will raise the alarm via DSC via your DSC VHF onboard.

Once activated, MOB1 will transmit an alert call to all AIS receivers and AIS enabled plotters within the vicinity. Integrated GPS ensures a precise location (accurate to a few metres) is sent to your vessel and any others that may be assisting. The device communicates with the vessel you have been separated from, along with other vessels up to 5 miles away (dependent on conditions). 

One of the main benefits of Ocean Signal MOB1 is that it transmits your position to the vessel via both AIS and DSC signals, which is a clear advantage over its AIS-only equivalents. Ocean Signal understand just how easy it is to lose sight of a man overboard, even in the calmest of conditions, which is why they've added a strobe light that ensures maximum visibility.

Most modern AIS plotters and DSC VHF comply with the standards required to receive VHF transmissions. However it is recommended that you check compatibility with the equipment manufacturer before-hand.

You can fit the MOB1 yourself, although it is recommended that the MOB1 be fitted to a life jacket by a qualified service agent.
