Unlike a EPIRB which is registered to a specific vessel and must then be re-registered if moved to a different boat, a PLB is registered to a person so can be carried wherever you are. Thanks to its compact size and minimal weight, it's great for hiking, mountaineering or for use at sea.
When activated, Fast find transmits a unique ID and your current GPS co-ordinates via the Cospas-Sarsat global search and rescue satellite network, alerting the rescue services within minutes. As the satellites are in polar orbit, they offer global coverage, ensuring you can call for help wherever you are on the planet, no matter how remote.Ã Fast Find uses an internal GPS receiver to pinpoint your location within 62 metres. Once in the area, rescue services are able to pinpoint your precise location using the inbuilt 121.5Mhz homing transmitter and a flashing LED SOS light.
Fast Find is quick and easy to activate and has a safe stow antenna that automatically deploys when the unit is activated. With a minimum battery life of 24 hours and water protection up to 10 metres, as well as a flotation pouch, this is a PLB built to survive the toughest environments.
