Icom MA-510TR is an all in one stand-alone AIS transponder with a compact design that features an attractive, easy to read wide-angled colour display that is easy to see, even in direct sunlight. MA-510TR is an advanced AIS transponder that boasts an array of features (broken down below) including a navigation function, silent mode, USB connectivity, man overboard function and collision alarm function.
Standalone AIS Transponder:
The compact, standalone AIS transponder can be installed in a convenient place near the chart table, in the wheelhouse, on the flybridge or on a pedestal in the cockpit and makes an invaluable safety addition to small vessels, pleasure craft and workboats. MA-510TR automatically receives information broadcast by other AIS equipped vessels and base stations, all while your own vessels static and dynamic information is being transmitted. AIS signals may reach where others cannot, showing AIS-equipped vessels that might otherwise be hidden (such as on the other side of an island, or behind a larger vessel), increasing your safety on the water.
4.3" Wide Viewing Angle Colour TFT Display:
MA-510TR has a wide viewing, high resolution display that clearly shows your and other vessels position. Dangerous vessels are shown in red and vessels registered as your friends are shown in yellow. There are two modes: day mode and dark mode. Day mode is readable in direct sunlight, with night mode ensuring good readability in the dark for added convenience.
AIS List Screens:
The 'target' list screen shows all detected AIS equipped vessels and targets.
The 'danger' list screen shows a list of vessels that are within six nautical miles of the Closest Point Of Approach (CPA) and 60 minutes of Time to Closest Point of Approach from your vessel.Ã
The 'friend' list screen displays the detected AIS targets that you set as friends. When you want to see target details, select the target with the cursor keys and push the ENT key.
Collision Alarm Function:
When a vessel comes into CPA or TCPA range, the vessels icon will blink on the display and a beep sound can be heard. When connected to external audio equipment installed on the chart table or fly bridge, the collision alarm function will alert you when you are away from the AIS transponder.
GPS Antenna:
A 66 channel parallel GPS receiver with SBAS function is supplied as standard with Icom MA-510TR.
Navigation, Simplified:
Icom MA-510TR's function guides you to a specified waypoint or AIS target. This function is started simply by selecting a waypoint or an AIS target on the display. You are able to assign a maximum of 100 favourite locations or points of interest.
There's also a target filtering function, so if you have too many targets on the screen, you can find your desired point by temporarily filtering out categories such as waypoints and friends.
Navigation to MOB Waypoint:
In the event of a man overboard MA-510TR can assist you in finding the casualty. When the MOB button is pressed, the GPS automatically marks a waypoint at the current location, allowing you to navigate to that MOB waypoint.
NMEA 2000 & NMEA 0183 Connectivity:
With the plug and play functionality of NMEA 2000, the Icom unit can connect to a NMEA 2000 network (an external chartplotter, marine radar and VHF radio). Using NMEA 0183.-HS connectivity, the transponder can connect to a transceiver, chartplotter, boat radar or GPS receiver.
Silent Mode - Increased Security & Privacy:
Silent mode switches off the AIS transmitter for security and privacy. This function is useful when you don't want to reveal your fishing spots to other vessels. You are able to receive other vessels AIS reports while silent mode is on.
USB Connectivity:
AIS data can be output from a USB cable connector on the rear panel.
Other Features:
Anchor watch function that sounds an alarm when your vessel is drifting when anchored.
Compatible with 12V and 24V power sources.
IPX7 waterproof protection (up to 1 metre depth of water for 30 minutes, except connectors).
Multi-lingual user interface (English, French, Indonesian, Spanish and Vietnamese).
