Icom's IC-M73PLUS VHF Radio builds on many of the excellent features that made IC-M71 the radio of choice for maritime professionals all over the world.
M73PLUS incorporates two new important features:
1. A new voice recording function.
2. Active noise cancelling technology.
Let's start with the voice recording function.
Icom's last call voice recording function will automatically save the last incoming call for up to one minute, ensuring you will not miss an important call. You can also start the recording manually.
Active noise cancelling technology reduces background noise by up to 90%, so you will hear and be heard better and clearer as the technology improves both your transmitted voice and incoming calls. As the radio has a bass boost function, low pitched sound is emphasized, providing a rich bass sound for both transmit and receive signals. There's also a BTL (bridge-tied load) amplifier that doubles the audio output. This internal speaker delivers a loud 700mW audio output with clear sound, even in noisy environments. With 6W of transit power, you'll also benefit from extended communication range.
IC-M73PLUS offers Icom's range-topping waterproof protection. The IPX8 advanced waterproofing rated radio has been tested to survive after being submersed in 1.5m (4.9ft) depth of water for 30 minutes, so the radio can be used in rain, snow or any other severe weather conditions.
