Icom's GM600 VHF Transceiever is designed for Class A DSC operation and provides a complete GMDSS VHF communication system, which is required for Commercial SOLAS regulated vessels engaging in international voyages. GM600 meets the Marine Equipment Directive 2014/90/EU "wheel mark" approval for European merchant ships. When installed with the GM800 MF/HF radio, GM600 and GM800 radios provide a complete GMDSS VHF, MF and HF radio station.
Intuitive User Interface:
GM600 has a combination of directional keypad and soft keys that ensure simple operation. The main 12 functions are assigned to soft keys at the bottom of the display and are toggled with the left and right keys. A clearly labelled keypad provides straightforward entry.
4.3" Wide Viewing Angle:
Icom GM6000 has a 4.3" colour TFT LCD that provides almost a 180 degree wide viewing angle, with high resolution characters and function icons. When when the radio is installed to the instrument panel, you are clearly able to recognize the display information from various viewing angles. There's also a night mode display that ensures great readability in low light.
Loud, Clear Audio:
The Icom radio's internal speaker enhances intelligibility of received calls by adopting a new waterproof paper speaker cone. The speaker provides superior sound quality with a wide frequency range and a flat frequency response. In addition, the radio delivers powerful 10W audio when connected to an external speaker.
Meets ITU-R M.493-13 DSC:
A built in DSC provides automated distress and safety communication. The dedicated DSC watch-keeping receiver continuously monitors the DSC calling channel (CH70). A total of 100 MMSI numbers for DSC call (individual ID: 75, Group: 25) can be stored with a 10 character ID name. Using the DSC task mode feature provides straight-forward DSC operation.

GM600 meets the Marine Equipment Directive 2014/90/EU on European marine equipment requirements and has passed the rigorous environmental testing and quality assurance process. The unit is designed to provide reliable operation and long-lasting durability under harsh maritime environments. The front panel provides IPX7 rated protection, with the rear coated with a corrosion resistance coating.
DC-DC Converter PS-310:
The radio comes with iCom's DC-DC converter that provides a stable 12.6V of power to the GM600 from either a 12V or 24V power source as well as a floating ground connection. This protects the radio from monebtayr power interruption. For MED certification compliance, PS-310 must be used with the GM600.
