Whether you're on the boat, the dock or even a paddle board - Harken's Marine Grip tape provides superior grip, up to 40% more effectively than competitive products.
The thin, reliable grip tape stands up to extreme conditions wherever you are - and, as it's non-abrasive, won't rip up your hands, knees, swimsuit or foul weather sailing clothing. In addition, Marine Grip is non-absorbent so won't hold onto dirt, get slippery after exposure to UV and sea, or take all day to remove.
Recommended Uses:
Enhance non-slip surfaces.
Dinghy seats and floors, cockpit soles, ladder treads, paddle boards, pool steps, showers, smooth hatches, surf boards, swim platforms.
Replacing worn grip tape.
Traffic areas where Marine Grip can easily and periodically be replaced.
Instructions:
Installation:
1. Make sure the surface temperature is above 18C for adhesive to bond.
2. Dry and clean application surface and wipe with isopropyl alcohol.
3. If cutting from roll stock, cut to fit using scissors or sharp blade.
4. Peel off 3”- 4” of liner and press on to surface. Once that is secured, peel off the remainder of the liner and press firmly to the surface using a roller to smooth out bubbles. Marine Grip may be lifted and repositioned if necessary.
For the best adhesion, allow Marine Grip to bond to the surface for 24 hours prior to use. Maximum adhesion is achieved after 72 hours.
Removal Of Tape:
1. Peel one corner while pulling towards the opposite corner.
2. Use a metal scraper or putty knife to slide under the tape as it is pulled back.
Removal Of Adhesive:
1. Apply an adhesive remover on the surface for one hour.
2. Use a metal scraper or putty knife to scrape off adhesive.
3. Wipe off any residue with a rag or paper towel.
4. Clean the surface with a household cleaner or dishwashing detergent.
5. Rinse with fresh water.
Specifications:
Length: 305mm.
Width: 51mm.
Cautions:
Always replace worn or damaged Marine Grip.
Avoid contact with petroleum products.
Care should be taken when applying in large panels where air and contaminants can be introduced.
Large panel expansion may lead to wrinkles or folds of film due to ambient temperature variances.
Not a suitable replacement of an entire deck non-skid surface - traditional anti-slip/non-skid gelcoat patterns or painted surfaces will have greater longevity.
Will require periodic replacement, depending on traffic and use.
