Mariner Outboards

You really cannot go wrong with a Mariner Outboard Engine. Mercury Outboards are extremely efficient and reliable, which is why they're the outboard engine of choice for the RNLI. The compact and lightweight outboards are some of the lightest in their class; plus are packed with handy features including a 'through' prop exhaust which muffles the exhaust sound by releasing it underwater.

We highly recommend Mercury's 4-Stroke 3.5hp Short Shaft Outboard Engine. This shares the same chassis as the 2.5hp outboard engine, but provides more power - making it perfect for use with an inflatable dinghy.

Electric Outboard Motors

Electric Outboard Motors have rapidly risen in popularity over the past few years, owing to their reliability and extremely low maintenance costs. Electric boat motors are quieter and lighter than their petrol-powered counterparts, plus do not require any costly yearly servicing - making them a superb investment.

We sell electric outboards from ePropulsion and Torqeedo, with our most popular being ePropulsion Spirit Electric Outboard Motor - a lightweight, nimble and portable electric outboard that weighs just 20kg (including the battery) and has a maximum range of 22 miles. There's also an option to upgrade to the Spirit Evo, which features a world first; hydrogeneration - enabling you to get even more range out of one charge. Water spins the propeller when wind is used to propel the boat, which in turn spins the motor, putting electricity back into the battery.

Trolling Motors

Primarily used for fishing, Trolling Motors are small, electric motors that are used to move a boat through the water quietly. Trolling Motors are excellent for precise manoeuvring and movement - yet can still provide some oomph when required. Higher spec trolling motors, such as Minn Kota Powerdrive Trolling Motor contain Autopilot and GPS software that will keep you in the right place at the right time.
