Garmin Transducers
Garmin Transducer
Garmin offer a variety of transducers designed to work with their fishfinders, chartplotters, and sonar systems. Transducers are an essential component of fishfinding and depth-sounding technology, as they emit and receive sonar signals to detect and display underwater information.
Garmin offer different types of transducers to cater to various boating and fishing needs, including:
Traditional Transducers:
These transducers use a single or dual-frequency sonar beam to provide depth and fishfinding capabilities. They are suitable for general-purpose fishing and depth-sounding applications.
CHIRP Transducers:
Garmin's CHIRP (Compressed High-Intensity Radar Pulse) transducers use a continuous sweep of frequencies to provide enhanced target resolution, improved target separation, and better overall performance compared to traditional transducers.
DownVü/SideVü Transducers:
DownVü and SideVü transducers offer high-definition scanning sonar capabilities. They provide detailed and photo-like images of structure and fish beneath and to the sides of your boat, offering a comprehensive view of the underwater environment.
Garmin transducers also support various mounting options to suit different boat types and installations, including:
Thru-hull Transducers:
Thru-hull transducers are mounted through the hull of the boat, typically requiring a hole to be drilled. They are suitable for larger vessels and provide excellent performance.
Transom-mount Transducers:
Transom-mount transducers are attached to the transom (back) of the boat using brackets. They are commonly used for small to medium-sized boats and offer ease of installation.
In-hull Transducers:
In-hull transducers are mounted inside the hull of the boat, usually in a location with good water contact. They are suitable for fibreglass hulls and provide convenient installation without the need for drilling holes.
Trolling Motor Transducers:
Garmin also offer transducers specifically designed for mounting on trolling motors. These transducers provide high-quality sonar performance while trolling or manoeuvring in shallow waters.
