Voltmeters
Marine Voltmeter - Marine Voltage Gauges
Marine voltage gauges are used to check the voltage in electrical circuits. This is gauged by measuring the difference between positive and negative voltage inputs. When the voltmeter is installed, it will measure the difference between the voltage at the first and second point, so you will know how much voltage is travelling between the two points.
Ammeters are similar to Voltmeters and are used to measure the current in a circuit. Ammeters usually have low resistance, so do not cause a significant voltage drop when the circuit is being measured.
So you may be thinking, do I need a voltmeter, or an ammeter? The truth is, we recommend both. The difference between the two is that a voltmeter measures the emf or voltage across any two points of the electrical circuit, where-as an ammeter measures the flow of current.
